Description: We will be making pillowcases for Ryan's Case for Smiles (formerly Conkerr Cancer). Ryan's Case for Smiles delivers over 200,000 pillowcases to local hospitals each year. The idea behind this is to help children with cancer and other life changing illnesses feel better to heal better. Check out their website caseforsmiles.org and watch the video to see how it all got started.
This will be a great opportunity to go through your stash of kid friendly fabrics - only two are needed for each pillowcase.
Please consider participating in this worthwhile event. If you can't make it that day, perhaps you can make a few at home. Bring to either the March or April meeting and give to Barbara Slaton. Pillowcases must be washed, ironed, and placed in quart Ziplock bags. Please use unscented detergent. NO fabric softener or dryer sheets and check for pins or open seams. If you don't have unscented detergent, no worries, just make your pillowcase and someone will take it home to wash and iron.

Supplies to Bring:
Sewing machine
Thread (neutral or to match your fabric)
General sewing supplies.
100% cotton novelty fabric for boys and girls ages 2-17 (NO flannel please)
3/4 yd (27 inches) for the body of pillow
1/3 yd (12 inches) for the border
Both should coordinate well, be cheerful and appealing to young children
Some kits will be available to sew that day if you do not have your own.
